Survival is the main point of Palworld, and if you hope to stand any chance against the elements or dangerous Pals, you need to craft some armor. This guide will cover how you can increase your defense and get the gear you need.
Palworld – How to Craft Armor
To craft your first piece of armor in Palworld, you must unlock the Cloth Armor recipe from the level 4 Technology tree and then collect two cloth pieces. To reach that section of the tree, you also need to be level 4 in general, so armor is off-limits for the very start of the game in Palworld. Once you use a couple of Technology points to unlock the recipe, you just need the material.
Two cloths are required at a crafting bench to make a set of Cloth Armor. The cloth material itself is also tied to the Technology tree just like any other recipes in the game. After unlocking the cloth recipe, you need to get ahold of some wool, which comes from defeating or catching Lamballs. Luckily, there are tons of Lamballs in the starting area of Palworld.
Bring your wool to a bench and craft at least two cloth pieces. Then you can combine those at a crafting bench to make your Cloth Armor. By default, it provides 15 defense and even protects you from the standard cold elements at night. The armor will automatically be equipped to your character as soon as you pick it up from the bench so there’s no fumbling.
Cloth armor is just the start of the progression process in Palworld. Further into the Technology tree, you can unlock recipes such as Pelt Armor and so on. You want as much defense as you can get before you start to search for the strongest Pals on the map or before your base gets raided relentlessly.
All Armor in Palworld
As you get further into the game, Palworld will give you more options to unlock more armor that can increase your defense and HP, and better protect you from the environment’s elements. Below is a list of all armor in Palworld and how to craft them.
Most armor in Palworld will need to be unlocked from the Technology tree, but you can also find schematics for rare, epic, and legendary versions of the same armor in dungeon treasure chests. To craft these upgraded armor sets, you only need to have the schematic in your inventory while you bring the necessary materials to a crafting bench. There’s no need to first unlock the base armor in the technology tree to use your armor schematics.
