In The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, there are a variety of frightening monsters that Geralt of Rivia can encounter on The Path, ranging from bloodthirsty vampires to ghostly wraiths, nightmare-inducing grave hags, and even some creepy, skittering arachnomorphs. However, there is one terrifying creature in The Witcher 3 that stands head and shoulders above the rest of the pack. The beast is an ancient evil, an elusive multiversal monster with a lair decorated in the blood and bones of its fallen enemies. The creature lurks in the shadows, stalking those intruding upon its territory, bringing death and destruction to anyone who dares cross its path.
This monster is… The Rabbit of Caerbannog from Monty Python and the Holy Grail. If you somehow made it through previous playthroughs of The Witcher 3 without coming across the beast, then thank your lucky stars. However, for those brave (or foolish) enough to seek out the Rabbit of Caerbannog, here is where you can find it in The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt.
Where to Find the Rabbit of Caerbannog in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Next-Gen Upgrade
East of Velen and South of Oxenfurt, Geralt can encounter a soothsayer named the Old Sage. You will meet him during “Gwent: Velen Players,” or in the side quest “The Truth is in the Stars.” It is during the latter mission that the Rabbit of Caerbannog can be found.
During “The Truth is in the Stars,” the Old Sage asks Geralt to bring him some dragonsroot to aid the aging soothsayer in telling the protagonist his fortune.
The dragonsroot is located in a cave north of the Nilfgaardian Armor Group ‘Center’ Camp and east of Downwarren, as seen by the orange marker on the map above. However, be warned as the cave where the herb is located also houses the Rabbit of Caerbannog.
When you reach the marker, you will find the cave entrance littered with the remains of a dozen or more fallen soldiers, and the ground still soaking with blood. The watchful Rabbit of Caerbannog (going by the alias “Snow Hare” in The Witcher 3) will be patrolling around the cave entrance, munching on the flesh of its fallen foes. Don’t be fooled by its unassuming appearance; this rabbit is a killer with a vicious streak a mile wide.

How to Defeat the Rabbit of Caerbannog in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Next-Gen Upgrade
Unfortunately, there is no way to defeat the Rabbit of Caerbannog, IT IS COMPLETELY INVINCIBLE.

To no avail. The Rabbit of Caerbannog will remain unfazed and unscathed. Meaning there is only one option when encountering the beast…
RUN AWAY!
Once you have escaped from the rabbit, you will need to craft the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, rumored to be the only thing that can possibly destroy the creature. It is said that the Holy Hand Grenade formula can be obtained via the NPC, Brother Maynard. Unfortunately, despite my many playthroughs of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, I have never once found the bomb’s formula and have yet to encounter Brother Maynard. If you are so lucky (or skilled) to figure out how to craft the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch, remember, before throwing the bomb, make sure that thou shalt count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three.

Final Thoughts
Although it is said that The Truth is in the Stars quest can be completed by simply walking past the Rabbit of Caerbannog into the cave to find the dragonsroot, is that really a risk you are willing to take? Because I, for one, am not.
Furthermore, the Rabbit of Caerbannog’s existence in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt only raises more questions. For example, does this mean that The Witcher and Monty Python and the Holy Grail exist in a shared universe? Or did the Rabbit of Caerbannog arrive in Geralt of Rivia’s world during the Conjunction of the Spheres? We may never truly know.
