The game teaches you how to hunt and acquire resources from fauna on Pandora, but it doesn’t explain fishing as clearly. Here is how to fish in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

How to Go Fishing in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora

To fish in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora, find a still body of water and activate your Na’vi vision to locate disturbances along the water’s surface. You’ll note the white bubbling water, usually near the center of the lake or pool, where you’ll find fish. If you get a bit closer, using the same vision mechanic, you’ll spot a few white fish swimming in circles.

The trick here isn’t to think too deeply. Just pull back your bow and let loose an arrow into the center of the fishing spot. Even if you miss, you strike. You do not have to hit a fish directly to farm the resource, as one will float to the top for you to swim out and scoop up. You can do this a handful of times, with the pool I found above rewarding me with four fish before it disappeared.

Why Do You Need Fish in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora?

With such an extensive cooking and food system, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora offers a way to use just about anything you can hunt or fish in the game for exotic dishes. After you spend time gathering fish, like this small Octofin Fish, you can bring it to a local cooking station, like the one outside Resistance HQ, to cook up something unique.

Most food dishes in the game offer unique boons. You’ll regain some health and refill your food meter, but many go above and beyond. You’ll earn additional experience, regain lost stamina, and perform better takedowns against RDA. It’s a valuable mechanic that many will want to take advantage of from the get-go.

To successfully hunt and fish in the game, you most certainly want a stock of arrows in case you miss. We can teach you how to craft arrows with our guide here!
