How to Farm Lair Keys Fast in Destiny 2
As you shoot your way through enemies and navigate insta-kill traps in Riven’s Lair, you’ll want to have a few Lair Keys on you. Lair Keys will allow you to open Lair Chests at the end of Riven’s Lair, giving you a chance to get more seasonal weapons and armor.
And there are quite a few ways to get Lair Keys in Destiny 2.
- Complete Seasonal Activities (Riven’s Lair, The Coil).
- Complete playlist activities (Gambit, Crucible, and Vanguard Strikes).
- Complete seasonal quests.
- As a season pass reward.
- As a reward for ranking up your reputation with Riven in the H.E.L.M.
- By opening chests and gathering resources in the Dreaming City.
- By completing public events.
The Fastest Way to Farm Lair Keys in Destiny 2
While running activities might seem the best way to farm Lair Keys, the best way is actually farming resources and chests in the Dreaming City.
Just load into the Divalian Mists in the Dreaming City and equip a resource or chest-detecting Ghost Mod. But the Combo Detector is the best choice, as it will detect caches and resources within a 40-meter range.
Each time you gather a Bayan Bough or open a chest, you’ll get +5 Riven reputation and there’s a chance you’ll get a Lair Key or Seasonal Engram, too. Once you’ve exhausted the area of resources, just load into the Divalian Mists again and restart the process.
That being said, if you’re trying to farm out Dragon’s Breath’s Catalyst, too, your best bet is to actually complete the Vanguard strike “Lake of Shadows”. This Strike can be found in the EDZ and can be completed in less than 5 minutes, making it the best ritual activity to farm if you don’t want to gather resources.
