If you’ve been cracking through Warframe and wanting to increase your positive reputation with the Ostrons, then you might be neck-deep in this particular material already. However, if all you’ve got is an armful of fish and a bit of confusion, then you might not know how to get Fish Oil in Warframe. Luckily, you’ve come to the right place; we can help with that.
How to Get Fish Oil in Warframe
In case you’re wondering why anyone might want Fish Oil in a game ostensibly about mechanical suits and killing, well, it’s about as simple as any other explanation for a bum resource in MMOs: the rep grind. Here, as mentioned, the Ostrons are big fans of the good ol’ Omega-3, apparently, so you’re going to want to stock up if you want to get on their good side. If you also want some exclusive Cetus blueprints, then Fish Oil will end up on your to-do list anyway.
To get Fish Oil, you’re going to need a lot of fish. Yeah, this part seemed a bit self-explanatory, but we thought we’d cram it in just in case. You can’t just get it in convenient tabs at whatever passes as your local pharmacy in Warframe, you actually have to, uh, have it extracted from fish that you catch. It’s a bit of a grind, but not nearly as bad as the farming for Pustrels.
Essentially, your job is to fish in lakes and other bodies of water on the Plains of Eidolon. Once you’ve amassed a pile of different fish, you’re going to want to trek over to Cetus and to talk to Hai-Luk. While there, just hand over the fish and when interacting with Hai-Luk, pick the “Cut Fish” interactable and you’ll be able to turn those little critters into the valuable material that you’re after. Fish will yield different amounts of Fish Oil, but it’s easy enough to just bulk carve them up into what you need.
Now, not all fish are made equal. Some are going to yield more Fish Oil than others, so if efficiency is ultimately a huge concern of yours, then you’re going to want to gun for fishing up the Murkray. You can find this particular underwater baby in the ocean, but you’ll need both special bait (bought from Hai-Luk) and a Lanzo spear to actually get it.
Now that you know how to get Fish Oil in Warframe, get out there and put your free time to good use. Need a hand with anything else in the game? Check out some tips, tricks, and news that we’ve put together for you:
