Gold Scrap is one of the relatively uncommon resources in Fallout 76, even though it has limited usage within the game. The difficulty in obtaining it can often puzzle many, especially those who might have been recent entrants to Appalachia. Here’s how to get Gold Scrap in Fallout 76.
How to Get Gold Scrap From Items in Fallout 76
Gold Scrap is used as an ingredient while crafting certain items. Finding different items is one of the easiest ways to obtain Gold Scrap. Here are the items to look out for across the wastelands. Once players find these items, they can then scrap them to find Gold.
- Gold Fork
- Gold Plated Flip Lighter
- Gold Pocket Watch
- Gold Plated Glass
- Red Star Pin
- Unstoppables! Board Game
Some of these items are harder to find, so that’s something to remember. Out of all locations, spend extra attention at Appalachian Antiques and the Whitespring Resort. Both places have plenty of gold-coated junk that can be turned into Gold Scrap in Fallout 76.
How to Mine Gold Ore in Fallout 76
There are specific locations in Appalachia where players can mine certain ores. Some ores can then be mined to get resources like Gold Scrap.
- Spruce Knob
- Abandoned Bog Town
- Beckley Mine Exhibit
- Billings Homestead
- Dolly Sods Campground
- Hemlock Holes Maintenance
All players need to do is build a workshop at these locations to extract gold ore. Once they have the ore, they will require a Chemistry Workbench and Acid. You’ll need 2 Gold Ore and 4 Acid to get 1 Gold Scrap. This is a more sustainable way to get Gold Scrap, but getting to the locations takes at least some time, especially for new players.
The best way of finding a Chemistry Workbench is to use the one located at your C.A.M.P.
