Stardew Valley is full of different hats and outfit combinations, but there is only one that bears a striking resemblance to the iconic green tunic and cap that Link from the Legend of Zelda is known for. Here’s how to get Link’s Outfit in Stardew Valley.
How to Get Link’s Tunic in Stardew Valley
There are three parts to the Link outfit in Stardew Valley, but what better place to start than with the Green Tunic? The Green Tunic is the perfect fit for an adventurer and can be made by combining Cloth with an Ancient Sword at the Sewing Machine.
The Ancient Sword is the most difficult item to collect in the set and may take you a little bit of time to find. The Ancient Sword isn’t a weapon, but an Artifact that can be dug up from Artifact Spots, Fishing Treasure Chests, or found in Artifact Troves.
Artifact Troves are like Geodes for Artifacts, and are a brilliant way to farm all sorts of Artifacts you may not have yet. You can purchase one from the Desert Trader in exchange for 5x Omni Geodes. The contents of Artifact Troves are random, however, so it may not be the most reliable way to find the Ancient Sword you’re looking for.
The main way to find Artifacts is by digging up Artifact Spots in the Valley. If you see three worms poking out of the soil, that is a clear indication that something is lurking underneath them. Hit the worms with your Hoe or Pickaxe to collect the item.
Artifact Spots can be found all over Pelican Town, but you will want to stick to the Cindersap Forest or Mountain area if you’re looking for the Ancient Sword, as they are the only two places that the Ancient Sword spawns.
How to Get Link’s Hat in Stardew Valley
Link’s hat, or the Gnome’s Cap, as it’s called in Stardew Valley, is a little harder to get your hands on. You can purchase it from the Hat Mouse at the bottom of Cindersap Forest after crafting every item in the game and earning the ‘Craft Master’ achievement.
Craft Master is not an easy achievement to get, and it’s made even harder by there not being a list of items you’ve crafted and what ones you haven’t. There is a roundabout way to find out in the settings, however. In the Options tab of the menu, enable the ‘Show Advanced Crafting Information‘ box. This will allow you to hover over any item in the crafting menu and see how many times you’ve crafted said item in the past. If there is no value there, you haven’t crafted that item yet.
Once you’ve become a Master Crafter, head to the Hat Mouse’s shop and buy your Gnome’s Cap for 5000g.
How to Get Link’s Shorts in Stardew Valley
The last garment you will need to recreate Link’s iconic look in Stardew Valley is a pair of shorts. These can be any shorts, pants, or even a skirt if you would prefer. The only thing you need to make your chosen bottoms look the part is some Clay.
Your decision on whether to wear pants or shorts will depend on what variation of Link you want to emulate. If you want to make shorts, you can do so with Cloth and a Grape, Blueberry, Melon, or Hot Pepper. If pants are what you’re after, make some by combining Cloth with a Powdermelon, Cranberry, Pineapple, Strawberry, or Wild Plum.
Once you have your base ready, run them through the Sewing Machine again with Clay. This will dye them brown. You can repeat the dying process as many times as needed to achieve the perfect brown to match the sleeves of your Green Tunic.
Equip your items in the inventory tab of the menu, and you are ready to roleplay as Link in Stardew Valley! Link’s outfit, or at least one that looks suspiciously like Link’s outfit, isn’t the only crossover in the game. You can also get one of the legendary swords from Terraria in Stardew Valley. It’s a bit of a change from the Master Sword, but Meowmere would still look great with your new outfit.
