Some resources in Starfield are easily and readily available the second you land on a planet and begin scanning ores, plants, and animals. Others are more challenging to find, requiring you to craft or visit shops. If you’re looking to get your hands on some polytextile in Starfield but aren’t sure how to, continue reading to find all the details you’ll need.
Where to Find Polytextile in Starfield
There are two ways to get polytextile in Starfield:
- Crafting using fiber and cosmetic.
- Purchase from vendors.
The easiest way to get your hands on polytextile is to visit an Industrial Workbench and craft some using two fiber and one cosmetic. Both resources are available from vendors or by harvesting on planets with flora that produces them. You’ll get one polytextile for each cosmetic and fiber you use, so make sure you have plenty of both before visiting the workbench.

Another option is to visit merchants and check their resources section for some. While the New Atlantis general store is usually my go-to, I haven’t had much luck finding some there. Instead, I got some polytextiles by visiting the Trade Authority storefront in The Well in New Atlantis.
Since it is not guaranteed to appear in its stock, you can use the nearby couches to wait 24 hours and refresh the shop. By doing this, new items will appear, with varying prices and quantities available.
What is Polytextile Used for in Starfield?
Polytexile is an uncommon manufactured component used in crafting and finishing research projects. More specifically, you’ll want it for everything involving spacesuit modding, as the first mod project alone requires eight polytextiles. If you plan on improving your finest spacesuit, have plenty of polytextile on hand whenever you need some.
