Not all Monsties are created equal in Monster Hunter Stories 2. Some eggs are better than others, and the better they are, the better your Monstie will be. If you want the best Monsties, learning how to identify good quality eggs is essential. In this guide, we will teach you everything you need to know about identifying good quality eggs so you can have the strongest Monsties by your side.
Where to Find the Best Eggs in Monster Hunter Stories 2
The first step to finding the best eggs in Monster Hunter Stories 2 is finding the best dens. Monster Dens are large, rocky cave entrances that speckle the landscape in the wild areas. Some Dens, however, are made out of gold instead of plain rock. These Rare Golden Dens are your first stop when looking for the best quality eggs.
After locating the nest, deal with the monster it belongs to before making a beeline to the eggs. If you’re lucky, the monster might be asleep or not there at all, leaving the nest free for you to loot. When searching through the eggs in a Monster Den, you will get a couple of indicators as to whether it’s a good quality one or not.
The first and most obvious sign that you’ve found a good egg is the bright glow that comes off it as you hold the egg up for Navirou to appraise. Navirou will appraise the egg in terms of both smell and weight. What you’re looking for is a stinky, heavy egg. These ones produce the Monsties with the best genes.
If you’re not happy with the egg you’ve got, put it down and look for another one to repeat the process. You can’t do this indefinitely, though. At some point, the eggs will run out, and you will be stuck with the last one you picked up.
This method works for all Monster Dens, not just golden ones. It is absolutely possible to find brilliant eggs in regular dens, Golden Dens just boost your chances. Once you’ve got your hands on your loot, scurry off into the sunset with your newfound egg and visit the Stable to hatch it.
