If you’re loving The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom but miss the original Breath of the Wild tunic, you’ll be happy to know it’s back and improved in almost every way possible. The Champions Leathers are a special gift for Link from Zelda, but you’ll need to find where she happened to hide them. If you’ve jumped into the Hateno Village Well system, you may have discovered a Diary entry that states that Zelda has created a new set of the Champions gear for him, and had to hide it away. Since she’s nowhere to be found for the time being, we’ll have to take this adventure into our own hands and find where the Champions Leathers have been stashed away.
Where To Find The Champions Leathers In Tears of the Kingdom
Start at Lookout Landing (-0293, 0137, 0025) and set a course for Hyrule Castle. You can use the Skyview Tower at Lookout Landing to get right to your destination, but you’ll need a fair amount Stamina, as well as the Vow of Tulin to get there easily. Launch and head to the north to get to our destination.

We’ll be aiming for the First Floor of Hyrule Castle, but you can always use Ascend if you happen to land on any of the lower platforms. Thankfully, even if you are weak and don’t have many good weapons, no enemies are hiding on the first floor of this famed castle. Once you land, head inside.
We need to head to the throne (-0254, 1026, 0339) which is accentuated with two torches. In Zelda’s note, she mentioned she had to hide this armor in a very special place, and what better place than here, right? You’ll need to either use a bow or throw some fire items onto the torches to light them up.
Once you have used a fire item to light both of the torches, a short cutscene will play, showing that the statue behind you has moved. This is the key location we need, as the Champion Leathers are hiding underneath this statue. Just turn around and jump inside to claim this magical tunic for your use.
And that’s all there is to it! While the Champions Leathers don’t show the HP of enemies like the Champions Tunic did, it does have a special ability that will aid players in the later game. You’ll just need to visit some of the Great Fairies and upgrade it to unlock its hidden ability.
If you’re looking to have the same look as Link in the original trailers, make sure that you learn how to lower the Hylian hood and pair it up with your favorite pair of Trousers while wearing this new Tunic.
