How to Get the Linear Fusion Rifle Laser Painter in Destiny 2

It’s rare that Drifter takes center stage, and there’s been years’ worth of grumbling about the state of Gambit. And while the Season of the Deep doesn’t really change that (it’s still the same ol’ game mode with the same ol’ maps), we do have a few new weapons in the loot pool. And that includes Laser Painter, which can drop from Gambit matches and by ranking up at the Drifter’s vendor menu.

The Best Roll for Laser Painter in Destiny 2

Laser Painter is a Precision Frame Linear Fusion Rifle that offers some pretty interesting Basic Traits, but it’s still too early for us to say what its absolutely best God Roll would be. One combination that will work well in PvE is:

  • Barrel → Arrowhead Brake. Handling -10, Recoil +10, Range +10.
  • Battery →  Liquid Coils. Impact +3.
  • Basic Trait 1Clown Cartridge. Reloading this weapon randomly overfills it from reserves.
  • Basic Trait 2 Vorpal Weapon. Increased damage against bosses, vehicles, and Guardians with their Super active. And because it’s a heavy weapon, that damage increase is 10%.

Your ideal build for Laser Painter will boil down to what sort of build you’re running. While Clown Cartridge and Vorpal Weapon work excellently for taking down PvE bosses, if you’re running a build that’s big on Strand you might try out Hatchling instead, which will spawn a Treadling at the target’s location if you hit a precision final blow or if you rapidly defeat your opponents.
