Tears of the Kingdom is a huge playground for players to experiment with weird and wacky ways to solve problems. While the game has a lot of systems at play, it can be difficult to remember all of the button combinations. If you’re looking to throw weapons at enemies or materials, we’ve got you covered. Here’s how to throw weapons and materials in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom.
How to Throw Materials and Items
To throw materials in Tears of The Kingdom, hold the R button and then click up on the D-Pad to select the material you want to throw, it will then transfer to your hands, and you can chuck items like they are grenades. Not every item will have a special effect, but we suggest using the Chu Chu Jelly as they will explode with elemental damage. This is great if you’re in a bind or out of arrows and need just a bit of range.

How to Throw Weapons
Equip the weapon you want to throw and then hold down the R button to aim it. Once you’re ready to throw, just release the R button, and your weapon will be gone faster than you picked it up.
Weapon throws will deal critical strike damage but greatly decrease their durability. So don’t throw anything you aren’t ready to lose almost immediately. You can cancel a throw at any time with the B button.
You should try fusing a rocket into a weapon and throw it. It’s a good time and will deal a ton of damage. Try it out, we would never steer you wrong.
