Like any good survival game, there will come a point in your Palworld journey where you’ll automate most of the work being done in your base. One such automation tool is the Ranch, and here is how to unlock and use it properly.

How to Unlock the Ranch in Palworld

First and foremost, you must unlock the Ranch in Palworld, which becomes available at level 5 and requires:

  • 50x Wood.
  • 20x Stone.
  • 30x Fiber.

With the technology available and resources ready, place down the Ranch anywhere with adequate room around your base. It requires constructing a small open field or, at the very least, a piece of flat land. Once done, you can assign a Pal, or if you’re lazy, they will wander up to the Ranch occasionally of their own accord.

What Does a Ranch Do in Palworld?

A Ranch is a resource-gathering point for certain types of Pals, including:

  • Chikipi
    • Eggs
  • Mozzarina
    • Milk
  • Woolipop
    • Cotton Candy
  • Mau
    • Gold

You can assign these Pals to work the Ranch, or they’ll visit one and work it themselves when not assigned to other tasks around your base. To assign a Pal to the Ranch, scoop them up with the interact button, then toss them at the resource point. They’ll automatically begin working on it if they have the appropriate skills.

Once a Pal drops a resource on the ground in the Ranch, another Pal will pick it up and deposit it in a nearby chest if one is available. Sadly, they only pick up one or two per trip, so you may need to swoop up the remnants.

Once you have a Ranch flourishing, you might also want to look into a Breeding Farm, where you can assign Pals of the opposite genders to get it on and produce a new worker for your base.
