During your Hogwarts Legacy adventures, you’ll encounter a quest from Adelaide Oakes asking you to help her locate her uncle. As you go to the camp and search, you’ll be tasked with following a map to a particular location. However, looking at the picture, you’ll see vague clues and a red arrow pointing to the end goal. How to Use Rowland’s Map to Follow His Trail in Hogwarts Legacy
There are a few main points to note when looking at the map:
- You begin at a camp, shown in the top-right corner of the map.
- You’ll have to travel southwest along a river.
- Along the way, you’ll pass an oddly-shaped rock formation, followed by a dead tree and abandoned ruins.
- Your final destination is a fortress.
While it may sound simple to follow these clues, the hard part is actually finding these landmarks!
Finding the Rowland Map Landmarks
Head directly south toward the river from the original bandit camp before going west. Follow the path along the river’s edge and continue passing each landmark. You’ll find the rock formation almost immediately near a treasure vault and Merlin Trial, which your character will comment on.
From here, continue west along the road until you find a fork in the road. According to the signpost, your two options are “over there” or “that way”. Go “that way” or along the right path to pass the dead tree landmark. Your character will also comment on this, indicating that you’re going the correct way. Keep going along this path and cross the wooden bridge to find the last landmark. Instead of entering this ruin, head south along the road again.

Your final destination is the Korrow Ruins, a large goblin fortress near the last landmark. You’ll spot it as you go south and can take a path directly to it. Enter the ruins, defeat the goblins inside, and travel to the end to find Rowland Oakes!
