Whilst Pals may not evolve, you can still turn them into the best Pal that there ever was, with a variety of different methods, including the use of Skill Fruit. Here’s how to use skill fruit in Palworld.
What to Do With Skill Fruit in Palworld
As you venture through the rather obtuse world of Palworld, you will undoubtedly find various Skill Fruits. Especially when you start exploring the many dungeons scattered throughout the land. Defeating the boss Pals that lurk inside will net you with some worthwhile rewards.
Skill Fruits are one such reward, and one of the keys to raising strong Pals, so it would be beneficial to make sure that you hold onto and store all Skill Fruit that you discover.
There are two ways in which a Pal can learn new Active Skills; by leveling up, or by consuming a Skill Fruit. Any Pal can eat any Skill Fruit, and it is in no way dictated by typing. This means that you could have a Water type Pal that knows a Fire move from a Skill Fruit, or vice versa. This allows for more variety in your move set, and you can cover any weaknesses more easily.
How to Use Skill Fruit in Palworld
To use a Skill Fruit that you have obtained, simply navigate to it in your inventory, and click Use. Then select which Pal that you want to use it on so that it will learn a new move. Click on the Pal and it will confirm. You can even use Skill Fruit on humans and teach them new skills if you want! But captured humans are arguably useless, and we’d recommend reserving your Skill Fruit for the pals who will actually use their new set of skills.
A Pal can only have three Active Skills at one time, but you are free to change them at will and will not permanently lose a move by learning a new one. To change a Pal’s skill, head over to a Pal’s Pal Menu within the Party and select the skill you’d like to replace on the left-hand side. This will pull up a list of available skills and allow you to swap out any skills you want at any time.
When using a Skill Fruit, the game will not give you a confirmation window asking if you are sure that you want to use the Skill Fruit on the Pal that you have selected. Make sure that you choose the correct Skill Fruit and Pal before clicking on it.
Where to Get Skill Fruit in Palworld
Skill Fruit grow on Skill Fruit Trees scattered around Palworld’s pal-filled world. Each Skill Fruit Tree will drop around three random Skill Fruits at a time for you to use to your heart’s desire. The Skill Fruit will then regenerate after some time, seemingly around one or two in-game days. This means you can farm and gather as many Skill Fruit as you want in the game. We recommend setting up a base beside any Skill Fruit Tree so that you can use it as a Fast Travel point and check in on it’s Skill Fruit production regularly.
You can also buy Skill Fruit from merchants. However, we don’t recommend this method for a few reasons. First, Skill Fruit carried by merchants tends to be low-level and not worth it for anyone who is not a beginner player. Second, you are extremely limited in choice of skill fruit from merchants. You can buy Skill Fruit from merchants in these locations: Fisherman’s Point and Duneshelter.
You should prioritize getting skill fruit mainly from skill fruit trees.
Once you have obtained some Skill Fruit, changed your Pals move sets to your liking, and leveled up considerably, you will be able to take down the boss at Rayne Syndicate’s Tower and be done with that pesky Tutorial screen for good.
