SMITE’s sequel has officially reached the public through announcement videos and posts, with its Closed Alpha test in Spring 2024 and its full launch in the future. Here are the details on whether SMITE 2 is releasing on Xbox One and Xbox Series X.
Is SMITE 2 Releasing on Xbox One and Series X?
SMITE 2 will launch on PC, Xbox Series X, and PlayStation 5. It will be available to play on Series X but not on Xbox One. However, the original SMITE is still playable on PC, Xbox One, and PS4, allowing you to entire the first rendition to your heart’s content.
As of SMITE 2’s first official announcement, it’ll be accessible on PC through Epic Games and Steam, alongside PS5 and Xbox Series X. The first opportunity you’ll have to play is during the SMITE 2 Closed Alpha Test in Spring 2024 if you’re one of the initial play-testers.
However, there are no details on whether SMITE 2 will be released on Xbox One following the alpha test or its full launch. We may hear more from Titan Forge Games regarding this after the alpha test; otherwise, it’s more likely that the original SMITE will be available on older consoles, with the sequel exclusive to newer platforms.
While there is still a chance it could be launched on Xbox One, your best bet is to play on PC, PS5, or Series X if you want to play as early as possible. Further information regarding other platform versions could come as late as the end of 2024 going into 2025, meaning it may take a while after the game’s release to hear updates.
