Warhammer 40K: Darktide is offering a ton of fun to PC players, both on Steam and soon-to-be Game Pass for PC. It’s Fatshark’s latest flagship title, following up both Warhammer: End Times – Vermintide and Warhammer: Vermintide 2. With the former games also available on consoles, some may be wondering if that will be the same case with their newest title. Here’s whether Warhammer 40K: Darktide is coming to PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
Is Warhammer 40K: Darktide Coming to Xbox Series and PS5?
To get one major fact out of the way, Darktide isn’t coming to the last-gen consoles of the PS4 or Xbox One. This is a truly next-gen game and requires some beefy hardware that previous-gen consoles can’t produce. The high amount of enemies on screen, all the special effects, and the overall beauty of the world simply are too much for those small systems to handle. We hate to be the bearer of bad news, but this is likely going to become the standard very soon.
As for both consoles, we can guarantee at this time that Darktide is not planned to release on PlayStation 5. It seems that Fatshark currently has a deal with Microsoft and, as such, won’t be released for some time on Sony’s platform. As you can guess from that message, Darktide is releasing on Xbox Series X|S at some point in the near future. It won’t launch on the PC release date of November 30, but the team updated everyone in a blog post today. According to Fatshark, you can expect news of the Xbox release to come soon after the launch of the game on PC.
