As you venture throughout the world of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, you may notice that you’ll run out of arrows and other items rather quickly. It’s a Moblin-eat-Moblin world out here, so getting prepared before jumping into battle against the many foes found in TOTK is rather important. However, if you keep using your blunt weapons and axes to break open boxes, you’ll find that they degrade rather quickly, leaving you stuck without a paddle if you’re in an intense fight. Thankfully, there is a very simple way that you can bust open these boxes, but you may not have even realized it.
Use The Ultrahand To Your Advantage in Tears of the Kingdom
It’s hard to break out of the mold of Breath of the Wild, since we’ve been exploring that particular version of Hyrule for over six years, and our minds may still have that muscle memory built up. Grabbing a blunt weapon or an axe to slash our way through boxes is something we’ve grown accustomed to over these past few years, but there’s a special tool that will be useful to us later, and by later, we mean now.

Shortly after starting TotK, you’ll receive the Ultrahand power-up. This special power allows you to interact with the world around you in ways you may never have imagined, including with pieces of the environment. Sure, it’s easy enough just to smash open a box with a big hammer, but you know what’s even easier and less costly to your equipment? Picking them up.
For the first few hours, you’ll be tasked with using the Ultrahand to create amazing pieces of technology. But, you can also use this unique tool as a weapon of destruction. Grabbing boxes and raising them to the highest point can not only be used as an excellent weapon against plenty of different foes, but you can also keep your primary weapons in tip-top shape by smashing boxes this way. Just raise it to the highest point, and press B to cancel. The box will come falling to the Earth, crashing into the ground, and spilling out plenty of amazing items.
This may sound simple, but after burning through countless clubs and axes, this has been a life-changing experience for myself, and hopefully for you, too.
