How to Duplicate Items in TotK
Duplicating items in Tears of the Kingdom consists of Fusing items to your bow, then dropping the bow and quickly equipping a new bow. This means you must first unlock the Fuse ability before you can dupe.
It’s also very important to note that your chances of a successful duplication increase immensely if you use two of the same bows. Most people miss this step!
Here’s how to dupe items in Tears of the Kingdom:
- Hold your bow and Fuse any item to it by hitting UP on the D-Pad.
- Hit + to open your inventory, drop your bow, and equip a brand new bow of the same type.
- After equipping a new bow, hit B then + as fast as possible to unpause and pause your game.
- Once you are back in the inventory, drop the second bow.
- If done correctly, picking up both bows will duplicate your chosen item.
This exploit is taking advantage of the delay of Fusing items to your bow. Unpausing and pausing fast enough will Fuse the same item to your new bow, creating two copies of it.
It is important to note that you must be very quick when you unpause and pause your game after equipping a new bow. You may not get it on the first few tries, but once you get quick enough you should have a consistent increase in your chosen material.
You can do this with any material you can find in the bow fuse menu, however some items are much more worthwhile to duplicate than others…
For example, duplicating Diamonds will give you 500 Rupees every single time, which will result in thousands of Rupees once you get the trick down. You can also duplicate strong battle items like Ancient Blades, which insta-kill any enemy hit by them. Unfortunately, you cannot dupe weapons or shields with this trick.
If you are a visual learner, our video above should be able to guide you through this process a bit easier.
It’s also important to mention that this method may be patched out of the game in future updates. However, as of May 20 it is still working just fine. Just need to be super quick!
Now that you know how to duplicate items in Tears of the Kingdom, it’s time to get out there and amass a gigantic stash of Rupees!
