When we think about difficult obstacles to overcome in Tears of the Kingdom, some thoughts come to mind. Challenging enemies, massive mountains and puzzles are just a few examples, but one that I struggled with for a while is slippery wet and icy walls. Fortunately, this elixir is one of the best ways to counter this issue early on. With that said, though, how do we get our hands on some? If you want to learn more, continue reading to discover how to make a Sticky Elixir in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Tears of the Kingdom: How to Make Sticky Elixir
To make a Sticky Elixir in TOTK, you need two things: sticky critters and monster parts. More specifically, you have to get your hands on either a sticky lizard or frog and defeat enemies for their drops before tossing everything into a cooking pot. A regular open fire won’t work, so make sure you find a solid cooking area!

Sticky lizards and frogs usually hang out along cliff and mountain walls. You can also occasionally find them in caves, so it’s good to keep an eye out for these little creatures. The sticky frog I found above is one I spotted just south of the Upland Zorana Skyview Tower at coordinates (2858, 0582, 0379).
As for monster drops, you can add just about any item you get from enemies to the elixirs. Much like regular food items, the more parts you add to the Sticky Elixir, the longer its duration.
The last part of this is finding somewhere to create your elixir! You’ll find cooking pots through Great Sky Island and Hyrule, with below listing a few examples:
- East of Gutanbac Shrine on Great Sky Island at coordinates (0789, -1390, 1577)
- West of Jiosin Shrine in Hyrule at coordinates (-0328, -0335, 0025)
- West of Kyononis Shrine in Hyrule at coordinates (-0333, 0441, 0022)
- East of Sinakawak Shrine in Hyrule at coordinates (-1364, 0742, 0085)
While there are dozens more to find for your Sticky Elixir cooking needs, these are ones you can access quickly even if you’re still in Tears of the Kingdom’s early game stages.
