So, you’ve found the elusive Mothcarp and, for your trouble, you’ve gotten a… broken sword? Here’s what to do with the Broken Blade in Destiny 2.
What to Do with the Broken Blade of Strife in Destiny 2 – Answered
On a random Wednesday evening, a new Exotic fish called Mothcarp began appearing in Savathun’s Throne World. If you turned this fish into the aquarium in the H.E.L.M. you’d get an item called the Broken Blade. Don’t worry if you don’t see it in the inventory – it’s stored in your Fishing Tackle in your Consumables menu.
Once you have the Broken Blade, you’ll need to take it to the Thrall statues scattered and hidden across the Deep Dive activity.

The first Thrall statue is near the start of the Deep Dive. Accept Ahsa’s Blessing and drop into the ocean. Once the locked door is open, drop to the sea floor. From there, here’s what you’ll need to do:
- The path will fork. Take the right path.
- Follow the path, then take the first turn right.
- You’ll encounter a tunnel. Go through it.
- At the end of the tunnel will be a yellow-tipped plant.
- Look to the right of the plant. You’ll see a hole.
- Jump into the hole to find the Thrall statue.
- Interact with it to give it the Broken Blade.
This will cause the Hive statue to glow with an ominous red light. It’s likely that more Broken Blades will be available in the future, and we’ll be able to give it to the other statues scattered across the Deep Dive activity.
