Sure, you’ve heard of the four faeries, but have you heard of Horse God, Malanya? The answer’s probably yes, because you’re here looking up how to find them. Here’s how to find Horse God Malanya in The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
How to Find Malanya the Horse God in Tears of the Kingdom (TotK)
If you’ve been to Faron, it’s possible that you’ve found the Lake of the Horse God. And like a reasonable person, you might have expected Horse God Malanya to be there. But it’s not! There’s just a giant white horse. So, where’s our elusive deity?
All the way at the very top northeast of the map, at Bloodleaf Lake. Horse God Malanya’s precise coordinates are 4295, 3211, 0151.
If you’re struggling to find this lake, it’s actually possible to get there by just taking the eastern road in Lookout Landing, follow it across Lanayru Wetlands, north past the Zora’s Domain, into Akkala Plains. Once you’re in the Akkala Plains and Valleys, just continue north. It’s a long ride, but if you love horses, it’s worth it.
Once you get there, Horse God Malanya will demand an Endura Carrot before you can inquire after their services. Sacrifice the carrot, and Malanya will then allow you to revive or enhance your horse. But to do either, Malanya will demand meals.
Horse enhancements are a new feature and can increase a horse’s strength, speed, stamina, or pull by one star. However, special horses, like Ganondorf’s horse, cannot be upgraded. If you try, Malanya will tell you to respect its feelings. We love a horse ally.

The cost for upgrading depends on the current stats of a horse you’re trying to improve. For example, my first and most beloved horse, Ash, only requires Copious Fried Wild Greens to increase his strength, as his strength is only 2 stars. But my equally beloved Ghost needs Vegetable Curry, Hot Buttered Apple, and Carrot Cake to increase her strength stat to max.
So, be sure to bring a fire and lots of ingredients!
