Instead of frantically sprinting through the forest, cannibals on your tail, hoping to find the necessary tools and supplies to survive, you can visit a single location and print much of what you need with plastics. Here is where to find a 3D printer in Sons of the Forest.
How to Find a 3D Printer in Sons of the Forest
To find a 3D Printer in Sons of the Forest, open your map using ‘M’ and look around your surroundings for a green circle with a white dot icon. It should pulsate. This icon typically leads to a point of interest, and, in this case, it’s likely a bunker — an underground lab with a safe room where you can find a 3D Printer down the hall.
At least it was safe during Early Access. Word is, sadly, that the hallways of the underground lab will no longer retain their safety and comfort for players. I’ve yet to find any enemies lurking within one, but that doesn’t mean it can’t or won’t happen. Just be wary of going around that first dark corner; it’s a doozy.
What to Craft With a 3D Printer in Sons of the Forest
Once you find the 3D Printer and a handful of Resin, you can craft a variety of items. Many of these prove extremely useful in everyday situations within the forest, and some require more nuance.
- Printed Arrows
- Printed Flask
- Printed Grappling Hook
- Printed Mask
- Printed Sled
- Tech Mesh
First and foremost, I recommend spending your Resin crafting a Flask, Grappling Hook, and Mask, as these items will be most beneficial. However, if you want to take an offensive position against the forest’s cannibals, plenty of Arrows can never hurt!
Where to Find Resin in Sons of the Forest
To find the Printer Resin in Sons of the Forest, a necessary item to use the 3D Printer, you’ll want to explore more of the map to find the odd campsite or supply crates. The latter most commonly spawns Resin, as do the bunkers themselves. If you head inside the utility room of the underground lab, beside the room with the 3D Printer, you should find a few spools of Resin.
On your journey to find Resin and a 3D Printer in Sons of the Forest, your trusty companion Kelvin may have endured a hit or two. You’ll want to heal Kelvin!
