Sons of the Forest has been fully released after one year in early access, and many players are wondering if there will be a Sons of the Forest sequel. In this article, we’ll investigate why such a question has risen and whether there will be a sequel or not.
Is the Sons of the Forest Sequel Confirmed?
Sons of the Forest sequel has yet to be officially confirmed at the time of writing this article. It is too early to expect such an announcement. After all, SotF has just been fully released, and there are probably more significant priorities for Endnight Games, such as further polishing Sons of the Forest, fixing newly found bugs, etc. But there is a good reason why many players assume that a Sons of the Forest sequel is a done deal and that it’s happening at some point in the future.

What Happens After Sons of the Forest?
When you finish the game, and the credits roll out, you will see a lot of different newspaper headlines that describe what happens in the aftermath of Sons of the Forest and how that universe progresses. Let’s have a look at the three most important ones:
The credits story revolves around Solafite, a mysterious ore found on the island, which has managed to cure Timmy in the credits cutscene. Timmy decides to start a company that will use Solafite to cure people of the most vile diseases. Philanthropic behavior, to say the least, but this made little Timmy rich beyond all imagination. Because Solafite deposits have to run out eventually, a new island had to be found to continue the exploitation. The first headline announces that a new island was indeed found, and the two other headlines I pointed out hint that Timmy has gone missing due to something that has happened on the said island. This looks like a great lead into what could be a new “The Forest” game, but until we have an official confirmation from Endnight Games, this will remain on a “wishful thinking” level. Remember the ending (credits) of The Forest? Where Timmy had convulsions on stage in a TV show and then had something crawling under his skin in his apartment?
Let’s say that this game gets confirmed at some point. What would they name it?
What Would be the Name of Sons of the Forest Sequel?
In hypothetical conditions we’re in, we’re left up to our own imagination. I’ve seen many comments online that wager whether the new game would be called “The Forest 2” or “The Forest 3,” but I feel Endnight Games may take a different path and use the current pattern to name the new (hypothetical) game “Fathers of the Forest.” I guess we’ll have to wait and see because all of these are speculations. Hopefully, Sons of the Forest sold well, and this will encourage Endnight Games to create a trilogy for The Forest.
