Sometimes a dragon grants your wish, and sometimes it’s a random human. Here’s how to complete A Small Wish in Palia.
How to Finish A Small Wish Quest in Palia
When you wander into the Apothecary shop, you’ll find a glittering scroll on a counter. Pick it up, and you’ll jump start a quest called A Small Wish. Head into your key item inventory. To get to your key item inventory, simply open your inventory by pressing ‘I’ on your keyboard, then select the exclamation point icon over your items.
There, you’ll find the A Small Wish scroll. Right-click on the scroll, and you’ll be able to read it. Reading it reveals that an unknown writer is requesting a sernuk steak for Najuma. You can learn more about this note by speaking to Chayne, who is usually in Maji’s Hollow in Kilima Village.
Getting a sernuk steak is straightforward. You’ll simply need to hunt and kill a sernuk. If you can’t hunt or don’t have a bow, speak to Hassian. Hassian can be found patrolling around the outside of Kilima Village during the day but returns to his home in Bahai Bay at night.
Speaking to him will net you the most basic of bows and arrows, but it’ll be sufficient to kill a sernuk. For the sake of efficiency, it’s a good idea to kill a sernuk in Bahai Bay, as that’s where you can find Najuma.
Sernuks are essentially the brown deer creatures that you can see grazing around Kilima Village or in Bahai Bay. I find that they’re harder to find in Bahai Bay, whereas you’re practically tripping over them in Kilima Village. But you should be able to find one close to Najuma’s house.
To use a bow and arrow, press ‘R’ to open your item wheel. Use your mouse to hover over the bow and arrow. Then, press the left mouse button while the bow and arrow are equipped to pull back on your bow and create a target. Release the left mouse button to shoot, or press the right mouse button to put down your bow and arrow.
Once you’ve successfully killed a sernuk, bring its meat to Najuma. Najuma has a somewhat weird sleep schedule compared to everyone else, in that she opts to spend late nights in her workshop just outside of her house. And then, she’ll retire to her house in the morning. There’s no need to cook the meat. Just hand her the raw slice of meat.
You can find both her house and her workshop by going to Bahia Bay through Kilima Village and then immediately turning left. Give her the steak, and you’ll get a letter from her dad thanking you. For your efforts, you’ll get an Iron Bar and +5 Renown. Nice!
But that’s not the only thing you can do in Bahai Bay. If you’re thinking of romancing Tamala, you might also want to grab the Leafstalker Mantis. Or perhaps the Mutated Angler, to help you knock off some of those hard-to-complete bundles.
