Most times with sports video games, the only thing easy to predict is the release date of a game. As many anticipated, it appears Madden NFL 24 will come out neither sooner nor later than its predecessors and will be right on time for when the season kicks off.
As we wait for the first game to inaugurate the 2023/2024 football season, we get to enjoy some preseason games, some big-name trades, and important information about what’s coming in Madden 24 before it drops this year. Let’s get into the release date of the Gridiron game and find out when Madden NFL 24 will release.
What’s the Madden NFL 24 Release Date?
The release date for Madden NFL 24 will be August 18, about three weeks before the first game of the season between the Kansas City Chiefs and the Detroit Lions, which takes place on September 8. That gives EA just about two months to improve on all of the great features they introduced with Madden NFL 23 and the game as a whole.

Happily, while we wait for the two months to roll over between now and launch day, we have a lot of preseason action. Ahead of August 18, Week 1 of the NFL preseason will start with the Cleveland Browns squaring off against the New York Jets on August 4. That, and those who are lucky enough to get invited to the closed beta testing, will get their first taste of Madden 24 behind closed doors. Who’s On the Cover of Madden NFL 24?
On the cover of the latest Madden title will be Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen. Many thought it would be another Patrick Mahomes Madden cover following his second Super Bowl ring win over the Eagles last season. However, by popular vote and demand, it’s the man from the Bills who gets the prestigious honor of posing for the Madden NFL 24 cover and succeeding the late John Madden.
