Remnant 2 is right around the corner, set to launch on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S on July 25. The long-awaited sequel looks quite exciting, thrusting us back into the game’s dark yet beautiful world for some additional carnage. It even sports co-op gameplay similar to the original game, though with that being said, you may want to know whether you can play with your friends on the other two platforms. Here’s whether Remnant 2 will have crossplay.
Can You Play Remnant 2 in Crossplay?
Unfortunately, it doesn’t appear that Remnant 2 will support crossplay when it launches on July 25. The developers have made absolutely no note of crossplay functionality, so you shouldn’t buy it expecting to play it with a friend. This is quite a shame given that playing with your friends is a huge part of enjoying games, though thankfully, there are signs that it could come post-launch.

While nothing official has been stated by the team at Gunfire Games, Remnant: From the Ashes supports both crossplay (on the same hardware family) and cross-platform functionality. That doesn’t say 100% that Remnant 2 will get similar support, but if your previous game supports it, why wouldn’t you try to implement it in the follow-up? Especially if there’s a lot of demand for it.
Will You Be Able to Play Cross-Platform on Remnant 2?
If you don’t already know, cross-platform is the ability to play a game on one platform, and have that progress carry over if you play on a different platform. As for whether that’s in Remnant 2, it appears to be in a similar stance. The functionality exists in the previous entry, though its existence in the new entry is up in the air and should be assumed not there. There is, again, hope for the future though.
